Excavation is the publishing arm for the written work of Nathaniel Foster and his collaborative partners.

Our mission is to deliver world class comics to readers, build a meaningful creative environment, and develop an audience of readers who are looking for ideas to shake up what a comic is and push the boundaries of what a comic can do.

NATHANIEL FOSTER

Writer - Founder

Nathaniel Foster is a passionate storyteller and self-proclaimed mad idea man. He has a BFA from the University of Southern California. Nathaniel was born in the wilds of Montana and now resides in the Los Angeles area. His diverse creative background includes writing, acting, film, classical ballet, design, baking, and more recently, coffee making. Even Nathaniel doesn't know what kind of crazy and exciting idea he's going to come up with next. At present he is writing "Beatbox and Tune," "Ducks," and "The Final Five."

LIA KIM

Creator/ Artist

Lia Kim is originally from South Korea and now lives in the Los Angeles area. She studied illustration at ArtCenter College of Design and is currently the illustrator for the online comic "Ducks." When she's not drawing, you can find her watching Korean YouTube, or eating ice cream underwater at the beach.

MATT GAUDIO

Artist

Matt Gaudio is a sequential artist and graduate of the renowned Kubert School (and a recent new dad!). Known for his tight, polished style and dynamic storytelling ability, his work has appeared in the pages of Dynamite’s John Wick, Bettie Page, Black Terror, Vampirella, and more. Matt’s keen eye for body language and expression were a great fit for the emotional nuance behind the pulse-pounding action of Beatbox and Tune.
